Berlin (w&p) 21 February 2018 – traffics goes Palma:
The company just opened a new branch on the Germans’ favourite island of Mallorca. Thus, traffics can expand its latest tourism platform Connected Destination. The company had rolled it out in September 2017 to push forward digitalization of Mallorca’s touristic offer by using an innovative technology.
It enables hotels as well as providers of private accommodation to access distributors of source markets in a direct way similar to blockchain technology using digital contracts and payment. With these hotel rates, tour operators can apply dynamic packaging within traffics’ systems. Travel websites and travel agencies will also have the chance to differentiate given the strong competition in the market. In addition to Germany, also tour operators from other European countries already highly accepted the new services according to the Berlin-based company.
The office as well as the team in Palma de Mallorca are headed by newly hired MD Ole Fisker who has expansive experience within the industry and had recently acted as Director Groups & Incentives Departments at SunHotels – also based in Mallorca. With the branch in Spain, traffics wants to cater to local partners on the island even better than before and set high quality standards in terms of technological connect. “Mallorca is our pioneer destination for Connected Destination with many more certainly to follow”, comments traffics-CEO Salim Sahi. I am glad that we will be even closer to the market with a dedicated office and a professional organization. With Ole Fisker as head of team we have found the perfect man for this job.”
The project Connected Destination had been supported from the start by the government of the Balearic islands as well as large hotel chains. Within the first five months, the company has managed to connect hundreds of hotels, villas and private accommodations to the new tool.
